What we’re thinking about… Breast Cancer and Domestic Violence
Two issues that both affect women share the month of October for their awareness. This past week, we spent time sharing personal accounts and statistics about these issues and we will continue to do so throughout the month. If you missed it, our contributor Carrie shared her incredibly real and honest connection to both of these issues. I encourage you to read the links below.
What we’re watching… Season 45 of SNL
When my husband and I cancelled cable last Spring, one of the things I was most sad about missing out on was our ritual of watching SNL on Sunday mornings bundled in our blankets and drinking our coffee. SNL was a big part of my childhood and teen years, I remember acting out skits with my friends at sleepovers and quoting it incessantly. However, having kids, the idea of staying up until 1am, even on a Saturday night, has long since passed. And so, Sunday morning SNL viewing On Demand had become our new normal.
As the new season approached, and I realized, we wouldn’t be able to watch, I have to admit, I was disappointed. And then, I realized that on Sunday mornings we could STILL watch the episode from the night before on Hulu. So excited! I love the current cast, I mean, how could they go wrong with so much fodder in the current climate. My favorite is and has always been Weekend Update and Che and Colin Jost nail it every week.
It’s amazing that a show can be on for 45 season and still find the best-of-the-best talent and remain relevant in pop culture. One of my favorite sketches, so far, this season was a commercial for Love Island (come back next week for a review of this mess).
