What we’re reading… The Spirit Almanac by Emma Loewe and Lindsay Kellner
This book is so super cool and beautiful! When I ordered it, I doubted I’d really be into it, but it was the May book club pick in the Simple Ayurveda Community, so I gave it a go. I’m beyond impressed. It is just a gorgeous hardback that I know will be a regular resource for my family. It’s modern and relevant and hits so many of the things that my family tries to focus on. It helps you to assemble your own toolkit and then gives you specific, easy, and practical rituals to dive into for each season. I just love it.
What we’re listening to… Lizzo (specifically the song, Truth Hurts).
I discovered her when watching the movie Someone Great with Gina Rodriguez (from Jane the Virgin). Currently OBSESSED with this song. Bonus, Brittany Snow is also in this movie and it’s on Netflix.
What we’re watching… After Life with Ricky Gervais on Netflix and Amazon Prime
This was my husband’s pick but I liked it just as much as him. Ricky Gervais (you know, the guy from the original Office) plays the newly widowed, Tony. He is struggling hard with processing his wife’s passing from cancer. It is definitely a dark comedy. In every single episode, I laughed and sobbed. The first season is only 6 episodes but the second season is already in the works. I don’t want to wait until 2020 for more of this gem.
What we’re making… Freezer Meals to Prep for Baby
One of the best things that I did during my first pregnancy was prepared a dozen or so freezer meals for once I had the baby. I did some Pinterest research and came across another batch with a good variety of meals from Making of Mom. You don’t have to do these as freezer meals, you can take a peek and see if you like any of the recipes. And bonus… majority of them are crockpot meals. Score!
