What we’re reading… Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis
I started listening to the newest book from Rachel Hollis, a kind of sequel to Girl, Wash Your Face (read our review here) earlier this week. While this book holds true to her sentiments in Girl, Wash Your Face, there’s definitely a less “kick ass” vibe to it. I’m about halfway through and my biggest takeaway was how women are taught to be good for other people. How, we don’t feel complete without the confirmation from others. I really started reflecting at this point of the book (Chapter 2) on times in my life where I’ve looked for reassurance, acceptance or even confirmation from anyone when I’ve done or accomplished something. More to come on Girl, Stop Apologizing when I finish reading.
What we’re thinking about… SPRING!
This week, we welcomed Spring, but haven’t quite seen the temperatures that go along with it in the Northeast. In the month of April, we will be sharing more about National Autism Awareness, tips for spring cleaning, dealing with picky eaters, self-worth in young women and more! Stay tuned!
What we’re obsessed with… Sleepy Lotion from LUSH
Having problems falling asleep? Or even staying asleep? At 33 weeks pregnant, I’m nodding my head yes to both. Sleepy Lotion from LUSH is my go-to remedy and it smells great. You can order online or buy in-store if there’s a LUSH store in your local mall. The lavender and almond oil ingredients smell divine and help relax you just enough to fall and stay asleep, without the morning grogginess of some sleep medications.
Who we’re inspired by… Susie over at Busy Toddler
A few moms I follow on IG have shared posts from Busy Toddler and how they use them nearly everyday to encourage independent play. I ordered the color dot stickers off Amazon used in so many of the activities and plan to start incorporating her ideas on weekends and even after daycare when we can’t get outside.
