What we’re obsessed with… Celebrities doing the FaceApp age challenge.
Is it possible the Jonas brothers look hotter as old men? I know, I know… Russians are stealing our info. But, they’ve already got access to celebrity images so it seems harmless in this case.
What we’re thinking about… ways to stay cool and entertained!
With temps hitting the upper 90s and even triple digits in most parts of the US right now, a lot of us are heading indoors. However, being stuck inside with the kiddos can make you go a little insane (or a lot). With that being said, I’m loving all the activities our contributors have shared to keep the kids busy. Like the Audiobooks & Podcasts for Kids post, the I’m Bored Jar idea or this list of a bunch of different activities.
What we’re watching… When They See Us on Netflix
This is a serious one. It is poignant and well-acted… rare these days. You can find it on Netflix and it’s only 4 episodes, so it’s super quick. However, the episodes are serious and heavy, I personally, couldn’t do more than one a night. This show deals with the false conviction (and, basically framing) of 5 children in New York City in the late ‘80s. The first episode had me so jarred in the same way the episode featuring Brendan Dassey’s interrogation and confession did in season 1 of Making a Murderer. It just nabbed 16 Emmy noms. This one will break your heart and stick with you.
What we’re making… Homemade Pesto
Our garden is bursting with basil, right now. So, what better to make with lots of basil than pesto! Pesto is one of my favorites and I love this recipe. It includes lemon zest, which really brightens it up. I put my pesto over rice noodles and top it with cherry tomatoes (also from our garden).
