Summer is in full swing and I’ve been fantasizing about lounging poolside, seaside, or lakeside sipping on a refreshing drink. While that won’t actually be happening for me any time soon… a girl can still dream. And, what’s better to fulfill my fantasies than a blog post chock full of delicious summer drinks. So, we asked our contributors to share their favorite summer cocktails and mocktails. Without further ado…
Our Contributors’ Favorite Summer Cocktails
Traditional Mojito
Kayse loves a good Mojito. She says, “There is nothing better than an ice cold Mojito made with fresh mint from my garden. It’s crisp, refreshing and delish!” She loves this Mojito recipe, best.
Vodka and Club Soda
Erin B’s go to summer cocktail is a simple classic: Vodka and Club. She adds a twist of lime to hers. She says, “It’s refreshing and easy to drink in the heat!” I concur.
Coconut Margarita
This one was suggested by Jennifer L. “I absolutely love coconut margaritas- they are so delicious and refreshing 365 days a year, but especially during the summer! The best I’ve ever had was at my favorite Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and no other restaurant or bar has come close. So… I just make my own now!” She suggests this recipe.
Vodka and Cranberry
Claire’s go-to summer drink is a simple classic favorite. She prefers Tito’s for her vodka and she dials it up with a twist of lime.
Grapefruit Moscow Mule
Julie loves any mule, really. She says, “My summer go-to used to always be a gin and tonic. A few years ago, I had my first mule and now I am never going back. They are cold and refreshing. The ginger beer is flavorful (and, tbh, I had no clue I even liked it). Best of all, the cool cup.” Get the grapefruit-infused mule recipe, here.
Our Contributors’ Favorite Mocktails
Red Sangria
This delicious mocktail was suggested by Annie. You just add pomegranate juice, kombucha, cinnamon, cloves, and loads of fruit. Not only is it delish, but you can easily spike it if you want! Get the full recipe, here.
Cherry Limeade
Heather doesn’t choose alcohol, so she shared this awesome drink: “My favorite go-to in the summer is a yummy and non-alcoholic Cherry Limeade. This at-home recipe is so much better than take-out.” Get the recipe, here!
