Who says you have to have something to celebrate in order to drink champagne? Not this basic mom!
This week on Mom Chats, I was sipping on my homemade Strawberry Champagne Float, and as promised, I have the super simple recipe ready for all of you!
These strawberry champagne floats are perfect for brunch, girls night, bridal showers and so much more. Not to mention, they are so refreshing, especially in the hot summer months right now. Go grab your girls for some fun times!
To make this fresh and fun Strawberry Champagne Float, here’s everything you’ll need!
Ingredients:
- Strawberry sorbet
- Strawberry lemonade
- Champagne (the small bottles are perfect for this, but we won’t judge if you bring the big ones!)
- Fresh strawberries for garnish
Directions:
- Using a melon baller, place at least three scoops of strawberry sorbet into your glass.
- Pour enough strawberry lemonade in your glass to cover the sorbet.
- Fill the rest of your glass with champagne.
- Garnish your glass with a fresh strawberry and enjoy!
Seriously, it could not get any easier! Scoop, scoop, scoop, pour, pour, sip! These fun, refreshing and perfect on a summer girls night or at brunch.
But, what if you don’t have sorbet….
Make your own strawberry sorbet!
If the word “sorbet” sounds too fancy for you, you might be thinking that it’s super difficult to make yourself. That couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s seriously so easy and only requires 3 ingredients.
You can basically make your own sorbet out of anything – may favorites are strawberry and mango, though. You’ll just need your main ingredient, something to sweeten it with (I use honey), and a little water.
Here’s the recipe for the strawberry sorbet I used in this drink recipe:
Sorbet ingredients:
- Two cups of strawberries, stems removed (fresh or frozen)
- ½ cup water
- 2 tbsp honey
Directions:
- Combine all three ingredients in a blender. If using frozen berries, set the berries in a bowl at room temperature for ten minutes to thaw slightly. Also, you may need to add a little more water, depending on your blender.
- Blend all the ingredients together.
- Pour the contents in a freezer safe container, leaving a little room at the top for expansion.
- Cover and freeze for at least four hours, or overnight. If you are using fresh berries, you will need to freeze the mixture longer.
Strawberry sorbet is delicious and easy to make! My favorite way to enjoy it is in a cocktail, obviously. You can make it extra fancy with the addition of champs!
