We have an old house… like 100+ years old, but it’s very updated overall. One of my favorite spots when we found it was this awesome little nook at the front on the second floor, the window seat with bookshelves. {Swoon} Fun fact: It used to be a sewing room (like 6′ x 4′) before the wall was knocked down, now it brings in lots of light and is a cozy spot in our upstairs hallway.
I wish I remembered to use it more when I’m reading, but it’s pretty to look at each time I go upstairs. I wanted to recover the cushion, update the pillows, curtain rod, and put some simple sheers up. {We can’t have our neighbors see us walking around naked. I kid, I kid…}
Thanks to Target… I did just that. I have been eyeing up these 24×24″ pillows for quite some time because I’m cheap and why are pillows so dang expensive?! I just couldn’t bring myself to spend near $30 for a pillow that no one really uses. It just sits there and looks cool, so the cheaper the better.
The Threshold collection is my favorite at Target, but with the new line and Fixer Upper coming soon I’m sure they’ll take the cake! I love anything Joanna Gaines has her hand in, except the Pier 1 line {Magnolia Home}. Remember I mentioned being cheap… the throw pillows from their line at Pier 1 are $99. Yes, you read that right, $99 for a throw pillow. {Yeah, no thanks}.
Here’s what I piled on the window seat:
Westfield Chenille Throw Pillow
Blue/Tan Diamond Oversized Throw Pillow
Address Pillow {Etsy – was a gift}
You Make Me Happy When Skies are Gray from Christmas Tree Shop {old, similar}
Black & White Umbrella in Rain Print {from art show, other favorites, another, and another}
