We are in the deep throws of school now. Not sure about your mornings, but they are rushed around here. My daughter is an early riser but the son isn’t, so it makes for interesting mornings. Make-ahead sandwiches are heaven sent in my house. They help my already chaotic mornings run a little smoother because it means lunch has pretty much made itself.
I tend to always make these make-ahead sandwiches with a hazelnut chocolate spread. But they do work wonderfully with nut butter and jam or honey. A bonus for my daughter is that the crust is already cut off for her. She is a hater of crusts, I have no clue where she got that from. My favorite part of the bread is the crust! Do your kids not like crusts?
Here’s what you will need:
2 slices of bread – Or more if you are going to prepare these at the beginning of the week.
Filing of your choice:
Hazelnut Chocolate Spread
Peanut Butter (Or any nut butter)
Jam
Honey
Cut-N-Seal from Pampered Chef
Let’s get to sandwich making.
So this is really super simple, you are just going to make your favorite sandwich. The trick to this though is to keep all the ingredients inside where the Cut-N-Seal is going to press your sandwich together. That is it, I like to make these for the week and store them in the freezer in individual sandwich bags. Then just pop them into their lunch bag and they are off to school.
Having their sandwiches already made also helps to help them be a little more independent. My kids love to help make their sandwiches and when it comes time to make their lunch they just grab and go.
What are your favorite ways to make your mornings go a little smoother?
