Here at The Basic Moms, we’re excited to announce Whose Kid is THAT?!? with Julie and Val. They’re both experts in imperfect parenting. Between these two moms, they have four kids ranging in age from two and nine. They’ve seen it all, hopefully.

I’m a mom to two boys who are currently 8 and 9. I work from home running my own business and also homeschool our kids. My husband works from home about 60-70% of the time, so we’re all together… a lot! We live in Vermont. We relocated here about 5 years ago from the Philadelphia area. We’re basically outside all summer, swimming or paddleboarding and most of the winter, skiing too (though my husband would definitely say we don’t ski enough – heavy eye roll). When I can sneak some time away from the kids and the husb, I’m at hot yoga class, bingeing something super trashy, or reading a celebrity memoir.
I’m Val
I have a 5 year old little boy and a newly 2 year old baby girl. I’ve worked in the vending industry for almost 13 years with my Dad and recently my husband has become part owner in the company. We spend a lot of our days at the office together and even more time at home discussing the ins and outs of potato chips and cookies. We live in South Jersey surrounded by a lot of family. We fill our weekends with parties for every occasion and snuggling watching Disney+. In the very little free time I have I love crafting, puzzling, and watching every new show that comes along!
Julie and Val go way back. They were college roommates and pledge sisters (DZ, what, what) and they’ve remained close friends for over 18 years. Sure, they used to get dressed up and stay out all night, and now life looks a bit different. Though there’s still not much sleeping going on and sometimes it feels like they’re dealing with drunk little people. They might go months without seeing each other in person but we text or send memes daily.
Julie and Val are so excited to be doing this podcast together because, honestly, they both feel like they really need someone to talk to about all this wild parenting and adulting bs.
Join them each week as they drink, laugh, and share the most ridiculous situations their kids have gotten them into. In case you were wondering, Julie and Val are definitely not parenting experts and you should absolutely take any and all advice given with a grain of salt.
