In my family, there are lots of girls. We also love to go to tea rooms… a lot. Whenever we hear of one, we quickly coordinate a day we can all go to try the tea sandwiches, scones, petit desserts, and of course, clotted cream. This weekend we combined our love of all things tea with Broadway and NYC.
Living a short train ride into NYC has its perks. My mom, sister, aunt, cousin and I arrived at New York Penn Station and headed {after we picked up our tickets} to Afternoon Tea at The Plaza Hotel {Palm Court}.Having afternoon tea at The Plaza is a bucket list experience. We had the New Yorker Tea and added the champagne {yolo}. I mean, when at The Plaza, you go big {minus the caviar, yuck}. The Palm Court is beautiful inside, from the stained glass ceilings to the palm trees, the monogrammed china, and champagne flutes. The tea sandwiches were tasty, scones were perfection, and the desserts were out of this world! Oh, and the tea! I went with the staple English Breakfast, but there was a great selection of tea.
Also, the displays were adorable. They have a kids tea option {Eloise} and I really wish I was a little one so I could get that tea option!
Normally when we “do tea” we don’t go this big, but it was a perfect ladies lunch option before we headed to our 3 pm play on Broadway.
Next up… Anastasia. We headed to the matinee showing and we were literally running down the street! Finding a taxi was nearly impossible {we needed a minivan due to our group size} so we ended up just walking/running/sprinting across town to get to the theatre.
If you’re looking for a show that has a bit of history, folklore, great set design, choreography, and an amazing cast… check out Anastasia.
