What will they come up with next? That was my first thought when I saw the Crock-Pot Casserole Crock on a cooking blog that I frequently visit for new recipes. I inevitably gave in and bought one. If you remember, I used it when I had to spend a week without a stove in June 2020 to make corn pudding.
And while I picked mine up at Sam’s Club, many retailers carry the new version of the old favorite. If you are wanting one delivered straight to your door, simply hit up Amazon. It’s also nice to know they offer a manual option.
So which recipes are my three favorites in this ingenious creation? And what is the dish I can’t wait to try next? Keep reading to find out what is on repeat and what is next.
Hashbrown Casserole
Hashbrown casserole has become a staple not only for my kitchen table. It has also become a go-to for family gatherings, work potlucks, and everything in between. And although this is something I have been making for years, I absolutely love that I can mix the ingredients together and toss them in my casserole crock for a couple of hours and not worry about my kitchen feeling like a sauna from the oven. Here is my recipe for this warm ooey gooey wholesomeness in a bowl:
- 32 oz. frozen hash browns, thawed* 10.5 oz. cream of chicken soup
- 1 stick butter, melted 1/3 teaspoon pepper
- 1 small onion, finely diced 16 oz. sour cream
- 3 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
- Directions: Mix hash browns, soup, butter, pepper, onion, sour cream, and 2 cups cheddar together. Pour into greased casserole crock. Top with remaining 1 cup cheddar. Cook on high for 3 hours.
Tuna Noodle Casserole
I may be one of only a select few, but I love a good tuna noodle casserole. It brings a nostalgic feeling to my soul when I dive into a casserole dish full of this cheesy goodness. So when I stumbled across this recipe from Crock Pot Ladies, I had to give it a try. It is now a forever favorite of mine .
CORN PUDDING
Some days it seems like it was just yesterday that I went without a stove and other days it feels like a fleeting memory. Either way, that week was the first time that I used my Crock Pot Casserole Crock. I am happy to say that two years down the road and I am still just as thankful for it as I was that first time. The initial recipe that graced that beautiful white ceramic crock was the Crock Pot Corn Pudding from Recipes That Crock. And just like all of the other times it has been made, it is still a hit.
What’s Next??
The next recipe that I am planning to try in my casserole crock is the Crock-Pot French Toast Casserole that can also be found at the Crock Pot Ladies. French Toast has always been a favorite when it comes to breakfast foods for me, so I am excited to see how this recipe pans out.
I am slowly learning that most recipes that can be made in a traditional crock pot can also be made in a casserole crock. It really just takes a little trial and error to get the cooking time adjusted. But the ability to make a perfectly cooked casserole without heating your house to the same degree as Satan’s home on a hot summer day, can’t be ignored. Or when you are expecting a crowd and you need an extra space to do some cooking, then this is the perfect option. Have you ever used the casserole crock or heard of it?
